Mrs. Julie Koder attended dental hygiene school at Luzerne County Community College in Northeast Pennsylvania to receive her associate’s degree in Applied Science with a specialty in Dental Hygiene (2004). Julie maintained a high GPA and received multiple scholarships and graduated with Dean’s List honors. She then continued her education at St. Petersburg College to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene Education. While earning her bachelor’s degree she taught instrumentation in the clinical setting at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. Mrs. Koder spent the first twelve years of her career practicing dental hygiene in general dentistry and the last five years in a specialty office dealing with children and patients with special needs. She has been an educator for the dental hygiene board prep for the last four years and takes great pride in making dental hygiene education enjoyable and comprehendible.
Over the years, Julie has given back to communities through volunteerism. She has volunteered at many sealant programs, special needs and health care events as well as giving Oral Health Presentations to elementary school children. She has also traveled to Haiti to treat children and adults in a Port-au-Prince area.
Julie is currently the President of American Board of Dental & Hygiene Licensure Prep Courses. She is also the lead professor in Clinical Skills Assessment Workshops and is known for her ability to identify skill errors and discover learning patterns to communicate with every individual’s understanding.
In Julie’s free time she loves to be with her family and friends. She has been blessed with three children and a caring husband and enjoys crafts, baking, and traveling.
