We do recommend taking the assessment exam in an area where you can find solitude from interruptions. On a separate piece of paper, keep track of the questions that you merely guessed the answer. We will ask you for an emailed copy of your guesses so we help identify the accuracy of your guessing ability. See example below:

Once you finish the online exam, only you and the assigned professor will immediately be able to see your "raw score" results as an overall percentage out of 100%. Do not panic about this number. We will analyze your score per "subject category" and email you to show you where strengths and weakness lie. We will help you develop a tutoring plan to build any weaknesses into strengths and confidence.

Understanding the Grading Scale- Standard Score vs. Raw Score

We do want to provide you with some basic information about the grading scale that is use on the actual NBDHE. A "standard score" of 75 is used as a passing score for the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination. This is not a "raw score". This means that a candidate does not need to correctly answer 75% of all the questions to pass the examination. The number of correct answers required is determined by the conversion scale which converts an average raw score of approximately 58-61% of the questions answered correctly to give you a standard score of a 75 on the Dental Hygiene National Board!

Disclaimer: These online exams are only assessment tools and is in no way an actual measurement of how a candidate will do on the NBDHE or CSE. This exam is a combination of previously used exam questions, commonly addressed topics, and an accumulation of multiple board review resources. Results may give insight to subject categories and topics that could benefit from further study.
