Orthodontic Dental Assistant Training Course
Course Overview:
This course is designed to provide the basic knowledge and clinical practice necessary for the hand-on workshop dental orthodontic assistant to work under the supervision of a dentist. There is not any pre-requisite to apply for this course. This course will entitle the dental assistant to work with an Orthodontist. Future employers may also require the dental assistant to be a CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) as well as have other legal requirements needed in the state of Florida. Course Objectives:
- Take intraoral impressions for Orthodontic appliances (DSD)
- Perform intraoral and extraoral photography.
- Perform measurements for the purposes of Orthodontic treatment. (DSD)
- Place and remove Orthodontic separators. (DSD)
- Selecting, pre-sizing and remove Orthodontic bands. (DSD)
- Chemically prepare teeth for bonding, place bonding agents, cure Orthodontic materials in operative site with a light-curing device. (DSD)
- Selecting and preposition Orthodontic brackets. (DSD)
- Place ligature ties and archwires. (DSD)
- Removing excess cement from Orthodontic appliances with non-mechanical instrument. (DSD)
- After adjustment by the dentist, examine and seat removable Orthodontic appliances and deliver care. (DSD)
- Polish coronal surfaces of the teeth after braces removal. (DSD)
- Learn how to use Dental Orthodontics Softwares.

Class Size:
We take a maximum of 14 students per course.

Day 1

Upon completion of the course you will receive a Certificate of successfully completed Orthodontics Dental Assistant training course.
